“I believe”

4 MARCH 2019

Happy March, friends!

So far this month, I have found a miracle man. The same man I mentioned last week, Mebratu. Bless his soul, he has accepted to be baptized March 16!!

I have also, after years and years of frustration, found my go-to Wendy’s meal: the crispy chicken sandwich combo. 🙂 You can sub the drink for a frosty and BAM! It’s got everything I want and all for under $5!!

Also, our Italian sister missionary has left for the Rome Italy Temple Visitors’ Center for a couple of months!! Luckily, before she left, I learned her authentic lasagna recipe. 🙂 The secret, is she cooks her red sauce for 8 hours!!

Lily, did you know?

This week was filled with so many good things:

» the missionary department came over and gave us training for three days about how to build human connections and teach and love others in the Savior’s way

» I helped film a marriage proposal for a cute couple! They are so darling and love the missionaries in the Visitors’ Center! My heart melted.

» I was sick this week, but trudged forward. We ended up having our first meal ever with people who are not members of The Church of Jesus Christ, and they were so funny but also it was so exhausting!

» someone we had contacted one night 2 months ago showed up randomly at church!! His name is Mebratu. I was floored!! Originally when we met him, we were checking on someone who used to be interested in our message and they didn’t answer. I was discouraged, and on the way to the car met Mebratu! He said he wanted to come to church but we could never get a hold of him.

Basically, this week was me being sick and pushing forward. As I pushed forward I was able to witness love and witness the miracles that come in the Lord’s timing.

I was happy to finally collapse and take a day to rest at the end.

I know that if we push forward, we will see great things. God will give us the rest we need as we accomplish the things He asks us to do. We will enjoy the journey.

Love for God, love for others

Hello lovelies,

This Valentine’s week I spent with my companion Sister Auger, enjoying the little things in life.

I have discovered and am OBSESSED with dark chocolate hummus!! With strawberries IT IS SO GOOD!! Not as sweet at nutella, more earthy, but not weirdly healthy tasting.

On Valentine’s Day, Sister Auger and I had a pepperoni pizza for dinner and a marble bundt cake later in the night.

We ate our cake while soaking our feet in a bath that we put a coconut sugarcane bathbomb in. 🙂

Afterward we tried this weird foot run that made our feet feel like they were on fire. ON. LITERAL. FIREEE!!!

If there is anything I am striving to focus on these last 12 weeks, it’s charity.

Charity is the pure love of Christ. In my perspective, it’s not loving someone because you love them, but loving someone because God loves them.

I had fun living those around me this week. I pray you all can find a way to show someone charity and make a little more room in your heart for that love to transform you.

Love love and charity,
Sister Dalisay

Someone I love

12 February 2019

Hello friends,

This has been such a good week, because I’ve been seeing so many small tender miracles that I know have to come from a God.

We’ve been finding a handful of people to teach – a young guy starting the climb with his own business, a young engaged couple about my age, and a couple more.

The people I am meeting lately are incredible and have so much light in them! As I reflect on the lovely souls I have crossed paths with this week and the miracles that have happened, I am in awe.

A tender moment I had was when my trainer Sister Friel stood up in front of all the DC temple visitors’ center sisters and bore her last testimony to us.

"Someone I love once said that nothing she does she considers to be a sacrifice, because it doesn’t compare to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ". ❤

I held her hand as we sang her last closing song.

Her departure marks my last 12 weeks of my mission.

I know that as we cherish the moments and the relationships we have with others, we will feel the love of God and have his power in our lives to accomplish so much more than we think we can.

As I am out here, I am reminded of the person I used to be and my potential to be more.

I invite you all to consider on the same, and to ponder if believing in God is something that will help.

Love love love,
Sister Dalisay
